Ukelele
The ukelele was one of my hobbies in high school. Playing songs while people were singing, being able to play all the pop-rock repertoire of my culture. It was a way to make the harmonic part alive. To think songs upside down.
Later on, I developed a way to teach it, and now I would recommend it as a very economic way to start experiencing music as a performer.
Chords, structure, dynamics, rhythm, playing together (even with oneself!), listening, starting to compose, and a long list of beautiful topics.
I truly believe that by combining disciplines, the learning is deeper and, most important, it will stay forever.
